Sometimes I just enjoy sitting somewhere and watching life unfold around me. Here I am on a small beach along an Amazon River in the south of Venezuela. We stopped here to rest and eat lunch on our trip up this river to Angel Falls. Just being able to sit here in the middle of nowhere, 40 miles from the nearest camp and over a hundred miles to the nearest city is so relaxing on the mind. All the little worries of day to day life disappear and great appreciation for just being alive overwhelms me. You have probably heard it said a thousand times, "Life is Short". And you probably think you are living life to it fullest. But it is my belief that we all need to break away now and again and do the unexpected. Try something new, go somewhere new, stop passing up your chance to really live. So the next time you have a chance to take the path less traveled or someone offers you a spur of the moment experience. Take it. Live it. And enjoy your short life to it's fullest!
